Are you interested in joining our Club? If so then send an e-mail (use Contact Us option) and we will get the bowl rolling. You don’t need to be over 50 and grumpy to join our club and you don’t need to own a blazer , shirt and tie to play - just be a nice friendly person who is keen to get some exercise and join others who are trying to play a skillful game and enjoy it at the same time. If you are young and not grumpy then we encourage Juniors from 10yrs upwards and we have an appointed Child Protection Officer for their safety and enjoyment. We will be holding bowling sessions on Monday and Thursday afternoons for ‘social/fun’ bowling where anybody can join in - especially new bowlers or any who may wish to join or take up the game - see below for more details. |

Season update: Well here it is - the start of another great outdoor season and the atmosphere is bubbling over with anticipation - and why not! The league matches are and the men’s A team have started well with 4 wins and 1 defeat and the B team have struggled a little in their promotion to Division 2 with just one victory but it was a good one - 7-1 against Stamford Bridge. Long way to go yet. Dates to remember: YCBA Middleton Cup : Saturday 5th July, : Club Finals Day: Saturday 30th August. Club History. I am still trying to gather information about the Club’s history and not really getting anywhere! I know there are many people out there who have pictures, documents, stories etc etc who could help me build a profile of our Club. If you, or anybody you know, has such information then please let me know and I will progress it. Otherwise I will just have to plug away at other sources. Thanks. Mike P. PRIVATE LEAGUE: The 2008 season is well under way and fixtures and league tables are being updated - see relevant pages for more details. Fun Page: I have added a Fun Page to keep us all amused - hopefully. I will be placing various pictures and comments and articles to try and spark some interest and hopefully a few laughs. If you have any comments or suggestions then please contact me - Mike P. Whist Drives: Another enjoyable season thanks mainly to Brenda Bell and her many helpers - more money raised too - great stuff Brenda - I will endeavor to support you more this year! Coaching: Mark Clarke is a qualified coach so please contact him for advice/coaching. The recruitment campaign - Still ongoing and we have attracted some new members who are playing short mat bowls and seem to be enjoying it as much as everyone. Keep going - it only takes 40 years to learn the game! Badges and ties are available from the Club Secretary. Ties are £10.00 and Blazer Badges are £6.50p. Mark Clarke is the Club’s appointed Child Protection Officer. |

About Us. We are a mixed Club and welcome both men and women to our Club. We play in many leagues for men, women and mixed. Many touring clubs visit us through the year and we have hosted many National and County competition events so we are a very active Club. We are lucky enough to have a splendid Sports Club (Tennis, Football, Cricket, Hockey, Squash, Gym etc) with an excellent Function Room and Bars for social events - at reasonable prices too! If you like to have a nice meal then this is the place to come as Paul will make sure you are well looked after. To contact the Club please telephone: 01904 481039. The Bowling Club is very much part of the Community and therefore is very important to all of us and will be treated with great respect and will be managed and maintained accordingly. |
